ACCESSIBILITY

BARROWLAND BALLROOM

At the Barrowland Ballroom, we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all our customers attending shows. Our accessibility measures are designed to ensure that everyone feels safe, comfortable, and respected.

TICKET AVAILABILITY
For every show, our Promoters and Ticket Agents provide a supply of tickets specifically for wheelchair users and ambulant persons. When you purchase an accessible ticket, you confirm that either you or a member of your party requires this position.  While we do not ask for proof of eligibility or disability, we trust that our customers will use these tickets appropriately. Each purchased accessible ticket includes one Essential Companion Ticket, available free of charge.

METHOD OF ENTRY: Accessible ticket holders should not join the General Admission queue for entry. Instead, they should proceed directly to the front door and present their tickets to any steward on duty. Ambulant persons may use the main stairway if desired, but there is also an alternative doorway designated for wheelchair users. Our stewards are more than happy to assist with any special requirements.

WHEELCHAIR USERS: Currently, the Barrowland does not have an accessible lift. However, we utilise a mechanical “Stairclimber” (distinct from a conventional chairlift) that we have used safely for nearly ten years. Trained stewards operate the Stairclimber to transport wheelchair users to upper floors. Please note that we cannot accommodate power wheelchairs due to weight restrictions, but we can provide temporary wheelchairs for use within the venue.

SEATING AREAInside the main auditorium, we have a raised platform specifically for wheelchair users, with space for one carer each. Additionally, there is another raised seated area for ambulant persons, also with space for one carer each. Wheelchairs are restricted to the designated platform area in compliance with regulations.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to make the Barrowland Ballroom accessible to all. If you have any further questions or require assistance, please do contact us.
